Are we our brains?
What could this mean for ourselves and our societies?

Based at the University of Edinburgh, ‘Constituting Neurologic Subjects’ is an ESRC-funded research project exploring the relationships between neuroscience and society. It aims to determine how understandings about identity, ethics and society are changing in light of new neuroscience research, and how, in turn, these concepts influence scientific ideas and work itself.

Part of our project will involve running focus groups with a wide variety of people, including neuroscientists, individuals who have taken part in neuroscientific studies, and other members of the public. Please see the menu on the left of this page to navigate this site.

On this website you can find information about our research team and the background to our project. We would welcome any feedback or comments about our project so please feel free to contact us.
